Microsoft는 Windows 10에 대한 주요 업데이트를 연 2회 계속 발표할 예정이며, 이는 다음 업데이트가 2019년 상반기에 출시될 예정임을 의미한다.
Right now, Windows Insiders are already able to test the features of Microsoft's next major update, which amongst other things will reserve system storage for future updates and temporary files and system caches. This update is designed to make the Windows Update process more seamless, as most OS updates should be able to fit within this reserved storage volume.
현재 Microsoft는 이 예비 저장 장치 볼륨은 약 7GB가 될 것이라고 말하지만, 언어 팩 및 기타 선택적 기능으로 인해 Windows 10의 예약 공간이 일부 사용자에게 더 커질 수 있다.
While this update will make the Windows update process a little easier for some users, the very idea of storage being locked away from users will no doubt concern some users, especially those who use 60/120GB SSDs or portable systems with 32GB of eMMC memory. 7GB is a lot of space for users of small storage volumes.

VHD(x)랑 LTS(B/C) (차후 나올 2021년이 예상되는 버전)같이 업글 대상이 아닌경우 어떻게 작동하는지가 궁금해지네요

여전히 bios방식 지원하는걸 고려하면 아마 삭제 안 되게 프로텍트 걸린 더미 파일 생성할듯합니다 (거기에 동일 파티션인게 차후 설치할떄 편하기도 함)

복구용 파티션이라 생각하면 될것 같네요.
강제 업데이트 실패가 발생해서 운영체제가
망가질 경우를 대비한 그런 취지 같네요. -

이 파티션또한 줄이거나 아예 없도록 설정 가능하겠죠.
